SPR needs audio/video equipment.

Dear SPR, NH-IMC, and supporters - It's becoming increasingly clear that the Seacoast progressive community could benefit significantly from some additional audio / video equipment. So far, items needed for our programs have been scrounged together at the last minute from friends and colleagues (computers, VCR's, large TV's, projectors, cameras, etc). Some of our needs have been met well with this approach, others haven't. We haven't been able to get vital equipment in time for several of our recent events.

Most urgently, we need a good video projector that connects to computers. The cheapest one I've found so far is $800, and I'm not sure yet if it would meet our needs. Most are between $1,000 and $2,000.

We could also really use a good portable audio mp3 recorder so that our events could easily be uploaded to NH-IMC - I've priced those around $150.

I also think it would be a good idea for us to collectively own a mini-DV camcorder and a high-quality video editing card. We could then produce professional-quality edited versions of our events that the cable stations might accept.

If you have any of this equipment that you can either consistantly loan out or donate, please let me know. I expect that we won't get everything we need that way, so I'm setting a fundraising goal of $2,000 for audio / video equipment.

Please send donations to Seacoast Peace Response, P.O. 863, Portsmouth, NH 03802, payable to Seacoast Peace Response, and I will coordinate the purchase of new equipment. Thanks. - Steve Diamond
